Circa: 1800-1850
Height: 9cm
This impressively large and powerfully rendered agate snuff bottle depicts two horses grazing under the moon. The artist has masterfully utilized the natural color of the material resulting in a light brown and a darker brown horse group. The remainder of the body is left plain to show the beauty of the material. The interior is very well hollowed and the stopper is coral. In our opinion, the subject matter, workmanship and material suggest a 1800-1850 date for this outstanding snuff bottle.
