Russet Brown Nephrite Jade
Archaistic Bi disc rendered from russet brown nephrite jade depicting a stylized dragon on the obverse. The reverse side shows a stylized dragon motif. Examples such as this bi disc were a popular object made to be worn attached to a belt around the waist by a scholar or literati during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). In our opinion the subject matter, workmanship and material suggest a Ming period date.
