A bat, auspicious as a symbol of longevity rests on the should of the vessel.
The overall color is a rich celadon green nephrite with a high degree of polish.
The brush washer is one of the most important objects for the scholar’s desk.
In our opinion, the subject matter, workmanship and material suggest a date of 1800-1850 for this work of art.
