With turquoise stopper This diminutive nephrite jade snuff bottle is well rendered from a fine white pebble. The double gourd shape together with the double gourd motifs rendered in low relief on the body suggested a wish for longevity. The interior of the bottle is well hollowed.
The fine nephrite material, subtle workmanship and symbolic subject matter suggest a 1780-1820 date for this fine snuff bottle.
